The steel double chined hull with keel, with each chine weld protected by D-bar, has been most recently repainted in late 2023 and does not require anti-fouling paint: environmentally friendly ultra-sound is fitted, which greatly reduces weed adherence. The bow is constructed of a rolled heavy section steel plate, with stem bar behind, giving her a more modern and attractive bow, which functions more effectively in a seaway when travelling coastwise. She is currently fitted with freshwater anodes, seawater ones are included with spares.

Internally the hull has been sprayed with approximately 40mm of closed cell fire retardant insulating foam to about 20 cm below the water line. There is a light spray of foam, approximately 5mm, applied under the engineered bamboo/wood flooring, which deadens sound.
