Master Cabin

The amazing use of beautiful woods continues into the master cabin, which is reached down 4 steps to the aft of the wheelhouse. The elm shelving sweeps round on both sides of the cabin, making full use of the wider space under the gunnels. The eye-catching bedhead is formed from ash panels with matching graining, fanning out from the centre. This bedhead is removable to provide access to the weed hatch and rudder for maintenance. The ceiling is similarly panelled in ash, with wonderful patterns formed by the carefully matched graining. There are fitted wardrobes on both sides and a set of drawers, with additional storage in cupboards either side of the bedhead (useful for storing luggage) and extra fitted drawers either side of, beneath the sides and to the foot end of the fitted extra-length king-size bed. There are also carefully shaped carpet sections, which can easily be lifted for access to under floor hatches.

A glass etched wall and door set in teak separate the en-suite area, which has a full-size power shower with a water-saving head, an electric suction toilet and a fully fitted wash hand basin with cupboard and shelving beneath. The walls are tiled in beautifully patterned grey/blue and rust coloured Brazilian slate with a full-length mirror inset and the flooring is again bamboo. Next to the shower are open slatted shelves for linen and towel storage, above a small radiator. A small mid-height wall separates off the toilet; the use of glass between the bedroom area and the en-suite gives a much more spacious feel than is normally achieved in a boat cabin.

There are 3 opening and 2 non-opening double-glazed circular bronze portholes in the main cabin and one with etched glass in the en-suite area, which is also fully opening. The opening portholes have mosquito netting fitted. These portholes have custom made circular blinds, which allows the attractiveness of the bronze to always be appreciated. In the deck-head there is an escape hatch to the aft open deck, a feature required for category B rules.
